Covid-19 News - Facemasks
Face Coverings and Masks
Hi,
I hope you are all enjoying your golf this summer, on the whole the weather has been pretty good and the course is holding up pretty well considering the increased demand and therefore traffic.
As we continue to move through the current situation with regards to the Coronavirus, we have yet something new to consider....Face Masks!
Government advice is that people should cover their mouth and nose whilst in shops. They are not expected to do so in restaurants or pubs.
Following this advice we have the following advice from England Golf:
"From Friday 24 July it is mandatory for customers to wear a face covering inside a shop. This will apply inside stand-alone professional shops where a fine of up to £100 may be imposed on anyone breaking this rule.
There are some exemptions to wearing face coverings including children under the age of 11 and those with certain disabilities.
If the professional shop is located within a clubhouse and forms an integral part of that building, then there may be some discretion in the requirement for face coverings to be worn. Please check latest government advice."
Therefore, as our professional shop is situated within the clubhouse, we do not believe that face coverings or masks are mandatory and as such, until informed otherwise, will not be enforcing this.
We believe that the one way system, open doors and social spacing allows for adequate safety for people coming through the shop and indeed...for 99% of our customers, it is a reception rather than a shop.
You are of course welcome to wear a mask and we continue to ask you to make your own provisions and decisions based on the current Government guidelines
Kind Regards
James
