Hi All

As we near the end of a very difficult season I would like to address the Members personally to say a big thank you to you all for your patience and understanding through the difficult times we have had to cope with and will, it seems, have to face for the foreseeable future.

I remind you all that we have the Committee (virtual) voting going live on the 1st of February so don’t forget to get your votes in. We have two very good candidates for the Vice Captain’s role in Dan Brown and Malcolm Dainty. Here’s wishing them both the best of luck.

I would like to thank the rest of the Committee for the hard work they have put in to get us through these difficult times; in particular, Malcom Shepherd for getting us all in line with the new World Handicapping System - great work on his part and also Paul Field for his efforts with the iZettle payment scheme that really allowed us to get our season underway - this man has my vote for Clubman Of The Year. I would also like to thank Sue Price and the Ladies Section for their amazing work with the Charity money collected this Season and we must not forget their amazing victory in the Peter Brown Team Challenge - so from me to all the Ladies, a massive well done and I look forward to presenting you with the Trophy and congratulate you personally.

As always I am also forever thankful to Barrie Hope and Peter Brown for their extensive knowledge and help through this difficult year; its great to have supportive Club Members who continue to work hard in the best interests of the Golf Club. I would also like to thank Angela and James Leaver for working tirelessly to provide us with the facilities we need to play our golf, the Greenkeepers who have had to keep our Golf Course in tip-top condition against all the odds, all the Staff at Ravenmeadow Golf Centre who keep us all well refreshed and suitably sustained with food and drink and the boys in the Pro Shop - a great big thank you to you all, your continued input and service is very much appreciated.

I hope we can get back to golf soon; I am looking forward to the next season with hope and anticipation and can’t wait to tread the fairways with you all again very soon as I am missing the banter and all the Members’ varied and individual personalities.
